Hello,
I wanted to personally thank you for your consideration of making a donation to the 2022 Ride 2 End Suicide, which benefits Common Ground, Know Resolve and Team Cont;nue.
In 2013 we lost our beautiful daughter Marie in a tragic moment that we could never have anticipated. Marie was just 21 years old and described by others as spunky, friendly, generous and hard working. Her ability to have fun no matter what she was doing drew people to her. But she could also be anxious, stressed and overwhelmed. Even though we loved Marie fiercely, and she was surrounded by a circle of friends at college, she felt unable to cope. One Saturday in November, she took her own life. She left behind so many who were shocked and heartbroken. We still struggle with this loss, and perhaps will never completely heal. But together, we searched for a unique way to remember her and move forward.
Since 2016 we have hosted an annual bike ride and fundraiser. The proceeds from our annual Rides are donated to local suicide prevention and crisis intervention organizations in our communities. Over the past years, our event participants, donors and sponsors have helped us to raise over $150,000 to support our chosen nonprofits.
Our goal is to continue to grow this event each year. Through these efforts, we hope to save other families from the tragedy we experienced. We want to continue Marie’s legacy of bringing smiles to other people’s faces. We believe in this way Marie’s memory is kept alive, and her last impact on the world is a positive one.
Thank you for your help,
Terri Jozefiak

Ride 2 End Suicide 2022
Ride 2 End Suicide is an annual bicycle ride fundraiser to raise money for suicide awareness, prevention, education and counseling.
This ride brings together survivors of suicide, their families, friends, supporters and local biking enthusiasts. The Ride is an opportunity to move for something that matters –whether that’s for health, recovery, or in memory of a loved one with the goal to raise money for life saving programs.
All proceeds from this event will support these organizations:
Common Ground has been helping people move from crisis to hope for 50 years. Dedicated to helping runaway and homeless youth, victims of crime, people with mental illness, and others in critical situations, Common Ground is a lifeline for Oakland, Wayne and Genesee County residents. Common Ground provides services in person, via mobile crisis team, computer chat, texts, and calls - as well as support groups, victim assistance, legal clinic, youth shelter, apartment program and mentoring.
KnowResolve is dedicated to promoting mental health and preventing youth suicide through outreach, advocacy and education. Through suicide prevention programs and The SHED (an after school teen center), KnowResolve has connected over 140,000 students to information, resources and skills to promote resilience, self-empowerment, suicide risk factors, and how to connect those who are struggling to available resources.
