Warning, this is a solicitation and I am asking you for money..... It seems to be happening all the time these days. Someone signs up to participate in one crazy fundraising event or another and always seem to send out mass emails asking their friends for money!
Perhaps I'm sending this to you because you know someone with type 1 diabetes. Maybe it's because you seem to have too much money and as a physical therapist I'd like to lessen the stress to your back by helping to unload your wallet by donating $10 or more? Or perhaps it is because I know that you are a generous and giving individual who routinely supports others when given the opportunity! Probably a little of all threee
On August 13th, I am taking part in the 2016 ODRAM, along with hundreds of riders from around the world, to raise money for JDRF, the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research.
Did you know T1D:
- Strikes both children and adults suddenly and is unrelated to diet and lifestyle.
- Occurs when the body’s immune system attacks and destroys the insulin-producing beta cells in the pancreas. Insulin is essential to turning food into energy.
- Requires constant carbohydrate counting, blood-glucose testing, and lifelong dependence on injected insulin.
JDRF is working every day to change this. And every dollar I raise helps them continue to bring life-changing therapies from the lab to the community until a cure is found.

Be a part of one of the Michigan traditions - 149ish miles in one day or One Day Ride Across Michigan.
