Strolling of the Heifers
If you are fundraising in the Tour de Heifer, you can join a team for any designated charity, and the money you raise will be split 50-50 between that charity and Strolling of the Heifers.
But if you simply want to raise money for Strolling of the Heifers without a second charity sharing, join this team. Money raised in the Tour for Strolling of the Heifers benefits our annual Farm-Food Business Plan Competition.
To set up your own team for a designated charity, follow these directions:
1. When logged in to your PledgeReg.com fundraising page, click the “Fundraising Team” link in the upper right.
2. Then, click the “Create New Team” button.
3. Here you can add in a team name, fundraising goal for the entire team, a description of your team, and even a team picture.
4. This team information will be displayed when someone visits your team page.

Tour de Heifer Fundraising
The second annual Strolling of the Heifers Tour de Heifer is set for Sunday, June 3. The Tour is a trio of scenic farm-to-farm bicycle rides tailored to all levels of ability, with 10-mile, 30-mile and 60-mile routes. There is also a five-mile walking option. To register, and for more information, please visit the registration page.
Proceeds from the Tour de Heifer will benefit the Strolling of the Heifers Farm/Food Business Plan Competition, a program of direct grants ($30,000 per year) to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship in farm and food enterprises. Riders may participate purely for recreation, or they can do additional fund raising, either individually or in teams. Riders who choose to fundraise will have the unique opportunity to raise funds for both Strolling of the Heifers and any charity they designate, with donation proceeds shared on a 50-50 basis.
Fund raising is not a requirement of participation. Riders are welcome to join the Tour recreationally without doing fund raising.
For individual riders and teams who want to solicit donations from friends and colleagues, there are two options:
- Raise money for Strolling of the Heifers plus the rider’s designated charity. Funds raise will be shared 50-50 between the Strolling of the Heifers Farm/Food Business Plan Competition and the designated charity.
- Raise money just for the Strolling of the Heifers Farm/Food Business Plan Competition.
The Strolling of the Heifers Farm & Food Business Plan provides competitive prizes to farmers and food producers with innovative and entrepreneurial business plans.
Teams can be started by any person or organization, there’s no minimum or maximum number of riders per team.
