I have always had a visceral connection with Vietnam, perhaps originating from being born during the height of the war, with my stepfather having fought there for two years. But, after my own 23-year military career, I traveled to Vietnam and fell in love with the people. Now, as tourism has grown, so has the pain being inflicted on the children who fall victim to trafficking. Beginning in 2015, I decided to use my love of endurance running to raise awareness and funds to protect these children. So, Enduring Voices 100 was born! Will you please consider supporting me, and the other runners, in our efforts to combat the evil facing these children? Thank you, and bless you!
Enduring Voices 100-mile Run 2016
Enduring Voices 100 Mile Run - 2016 will be completed from October 4-6. Our runners will start at Cinnamon Top, a remote mountain near the Laotian border in the central highlands of Vietnam. We will finish near the China Sea, a distance of 100 miles across Quang Nam Province, the entire width of central Vietnam! Along the way, we will pass through numerous villages, orphanages, and schools, visiting the children of Vietnam along the way. We have room for individual runners and relay teams, but each must be able to run 33 miles per day for three consecutive days.
New this year is a Simul-Run! Runners who wish to participate, but aren't able to travel to Vietnam, can accumulate miles between September 30 and October 6.
We aim to raise $50,000 this year, and ask that individuals raise support through our fundraising page. Whether you will be in Vietnam, or running at home, we appreciate your dedication and support!
Orphan Voice is a faith-based, orphan relief organization that meets the needs of “the least of these” in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. We work to protect orphans, children living in state institutions, special needs children including the deaf, families at risk to place their child in an orphanage, and children and youth at risk for sexual or labor trafficking.
We will care for the orphan,
Wherever she may be found.
If he is thirsty, we will give him drink;
If she is hungry, we will give her bread;
If he is naked, we will clothe him;
If she is homeless, we will shelter her;
If he is without comfort we will hold him,
Until he knows Everlasting Love.
