Hello Friends and Family,

Since moving to Western Mass, I've listened to Monte's Cancer Connection Camp Out every year on the radio and donated, but have always wanted to participate as well. While I share the same sentiment as Monte - that the idea of camping out in the freezing cold in March for days on end is a personal definition of hell - it is for such an incredibly great cause that it makes it all worth it. I decided that 2017 would be the year to finally join him and the other fund raisers in that suffering, as I will be celebrating my 5th year in remission from Hodkins Lymphoma this March, which officially makes me cancer free!

That idea changed when I found out I was pregnant 2 months ago, and realized winter camping was probably not the best idea anymore. Then Monte announced that after 10 years he would no longer be doing a Camp Out, but a Camp IN at the historic Hotel Northampton, and I jumped on the oppurtunity to join him to fundraise for and at the event, then have my own hotel room to crash in. Win - Win!

I have been very fortunate in this life; to live where I live and when I live, to have my health, my loving husband and family, and a baby on the way. I was even fortunate to have had my cancer. I have always said it was one of the best things to ever happen to me, as it showed me my own strength and intuition, and the power of my family and community rising up to show their support and love through my diagnosis, 6 months of chemotherapy, and remission. I know from experience the power that support can have for you and your loved ones during the emotionally and physically taxing cancer experience, and that is exactly what the Cancer Connection strives to do.

Cancer Connection offers a haven where people with cancer, their loved ones, and caregivers can learn to cope with the physical and emotional turmoil that is part of a cancer diagnosis and to explore ways to enhance their strength, their hope and their care through support groups, integrative therapies, creative activities and education. All services are offered free of charge. I have spent time with them myself and can tell you they truly do incredible work, and I am beyond excited to join Monte and 93.9 The River to raise money for them

I hope you'll consider making a donation to help me meet (and excede!) my $1,500 goal. Last year over $100,000 was raised, and I just know we can beat that this year!

Your gift, which is tax deductible, will go directly to Cancer Connection to support their important work.

If you want to learn more about Cancer Connection's free programs and services, visit their website: www.cancer-connection.org.

Thank you for your support.

Much love and gratitude,

Molly
