On Sunday, June 11, 2017 I will be cycling in my 10th annual 25-mile "Katelynn's Ride" in Amherst, MA. Katelynn's Ride was started in 2001 as a way to support the Jimmy Fund of the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and honor the memory of Katelynn Battista of West Springfield, MA, who lost her fight to cancer at age eleven.
Most of us have been personally affected by cancer in one way or another. This year brought with it the unfortunate diagnosis of breast cancer to my own mother, and 2 good friends. (All are thankfully in remission!) We also lost a co-worker's daughter, and just last week, we lost a friend's father after a 13 year battle.
Please help me reach my goal of $1000 in honor of all those who have been touched by this disease.
