Copake Falls (and the surrounding area) is very important to us. Cassandra grew up here, James has loved it since the first time she brought him here, and now they bring their newborn son as often as possible to enjoy the beauty and crisp, fresh air. Even though our jobs keep us away during the week, we're back enjoying this wonderful little slice of heaven nearly every weekend. For those who have biked, hiked, or run in this area, with or without us, you know just how beautiful it is; for those who haven't, you should!
Right now the Harlem Valley Rail Trail allows everyone public access and you can walk/run/roll right out of Wassaic Train Station into Millerton, then jump off and onto some beautiful back roads, then back on again, right into Copake Falls and the Bash Bish Falls range. Now that we've got the path further cleared to Hillsdale, we need to finish paving it,*** so that ALL can enjoy that section too. Sadly, public funds only go so far. Awesomely, public use is up and I see such an incredible variety of people using the finished sections every weekend, from walkers to joggers to bikers to those with strollers and wheelchairs, so this extension will only bring more great access and great business to our community. This is where you and I come in. Donate a single dollar or many dollars. All are SO greatly appreciated. *** The Ramble is raising funds to benefit the Harlem Valley Rail Trail Association. When completed, the Rail Trail will run for over 46 miles, connecting Wassaic, NY to Chatham, NY.
