Set in the beautiful Runnymede Sanctuary, the Chasin' for Chalfin Trail Run brings together runners from far and wide for a challenging 5K and 10K trail course.  The beauty of the surroundings and support of such a great cause make for a fun and exciting day of trail racing.  This race was originally conceived in support of Jake Chalfin, a neighbor and a friend who suffered an accident in 2010 which left him paralyzed from the chest down, facing significant long-term expenses associated with his special needs.  The race has since evolved over the years and they are now able to share the race proceeds with other individuals needing adaptive equipment and organizations who support individuals with such needs. In 2017, the Chasin' for Chalfin race will also benefit Lee Lee Jones and Paddy Young. Lee Lee suffered a traumatic brain injury (TBI) in December 2016 and is currently at Bryn Mawr Rehabilitation. Once discharged, she will need around-the-clock medical care, as well as copious amounts of therapy, including speech, occupational, and physical. Paddy suffered a TBI on May 2017. A father of 3, he will have extensive medical bills incurred from his hospitalization as well as ongoing medical costs.

If you wish to donate to specifically Jake, Lee Lee, or Paddy's cause, please leave a note with your online donation specifying who you wish the funds go to, or donate to the PledgeReg team for that individual. For any directed mail-in donations (Mail To: Velo Amis 24 Nightingale Circle Newark, DE 19711), please write a note in the memo line on the check.
