After going through toxic friendships and relationships throughout the years, I have decided to help raise money for the Grace Smith House this fall, and contribute to getting women and men to safety as soon as possible. With your help, a little step goes a long way, and even you can help someone as well.
If anyone knows anything about me, they know that this organization holds a special place in my heart for multiple reasons. Do something good for not only yourself, but another person out there struggling. We are all human. Happy Halloween :)
GHASTLY GHOST LEVEL
When we raise $100 for GSH, we will help get a woman and her child to the safety of our shelter.
MOURNFUL MOON LEVEL
When we raise $500, we will help that survivor take the next step towards healing, by providing her with knowledgeable and compassionate counselors.

There’s a poltergeist in your house, and there is nowhere to run. There are hordes of zombies on your lawn, attempting to break down the doors. Vampires need an invitation, but once they’re in, you are powerless against them. Our most fantastical fears are determined to tear apart the one place we should feel secure.
This Halloween, know what’s really scary? Not feeling safe in your own home. Spending every waking moment frightened, humiliated, and vulnerable. Countless members of our community here in Dutchess County are besieged not by storybook monsters, but by the very real danger of domestic violence. Grace Smith House receives calls every week from your neighbors, coworkers and friends terrified of their intimate partner. They are in need of a safe place to run, an escape from the nightmare. You can offer them that refuge, by fundraising to support the mission of Grace Smith House during Domestic Violence Awareness Month. One in 4 women and 1 in 6 men are abused in their lifestime - someone YOU know can benefit from this fundraising effort.
The Grace Pumpkin Parade celebrates the fundraising efforts of our community on behalf of survivors. On the day of the event, participants are recognized for their commitment, and through their dedication, encourage others to continue the fight. Participants who raise $100 and above receive buttons and other great swag, as well as the knowledge that they are making a difference in their community. Join us in pushing back the darkness, and opening doors to a place of safety.?

Established in 1981, Grace Smith House is a private not-for-profit domestic violence agency, which provides both residential and non-residential services to victims of domestic violence and their children.
The mission of Grace Smith House, Inc. is to enable individuals and families to live free from domestic violence by:
- Providing shelter and apartments, advocacy, counselling and education
- Raising the consciousness of the community regarding the extent, type and seriousness of domestic violence
- Initiating and taking positions on public policies in order to provide options which empower victims of domestic violence
When Grace Smith House was originally conceived, no one envisioned that our organization would serve over 2,500 families each year in flight from their personal domestic violence horror. Today, Grace Smith House has grown from a single crisis shelter to also include transitional housing and our non-residential programs and services.
