Why I Ride
I have been a cyclist since diapers. Yes, I had goofy hippy parents who put me on the back of a tandem as soon as my legs could reach the shortened cranks my father modified for my tiny legs. I have spent the subsequent years racing, working as a bicycle messenger in Philadelphia, and as a sales executive in the bicycle industry. When invited to join the ride, I immediately accepted, because I believe that logical and thoughtful gun safety legislation is the responsibility of a civilized society and it is our duty to protect our friends, loved ones, and the community at-large from the myriad gun violence that plagues our country.
I ride for the victims of the nearly 300 school shootings since 2013. I ride for those ignored by elected officials who gladly take money from the NRA rather than protect their citizens. I ride to ensure that our state's rights are not infringed upon with the passage of the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act. And, on a more personal note, I also ride for my wife and three children; I would love to see them live in a world free from the horror of gun violence.

Sandy Hook Ride on Washington
For the 6th time, 26 cyclists will ride to honor the 26 killed at the Sandy Hook School and all victims of gun violence, to raise awareness of the public health crisis of gun violence, and to support common sense measures to reduce it. We will ride Newtown, Connecticut to Washington, D.C. from May 5 to May 8, 2018 Our ride will take us towards and through states that are working to reduce gun violence. Until members of the Congress do their jobs and pass laws to make Americans safer instead of offering thoughts and prayers for victims, we will continue to ride.
