A few days after the parkland shooting my kids were getting ready for school in the morning and my daughter says to me that she’s wearing her lucky socks. She did not have a test, competition, or presentation to give. I knew why she told me that, she was scared she or a classmate might not come home from school that day because an incident like Parkland or Sandy Hook can happen anywhere at any time. My heart sank and I had to hold back my tears, our children should not have to live in fear of going to school.
Please help support me and Team 26 as we once again ride to Washington to honor the families of the Sandy Hook shooting and all victims of gun violence. We ride to raise awareness of the massive public health crisis of gun violence and to support common-sense measures to reduce it.
I feel extremely fortunate to be able to use my skills and fitness as a cyclist for such a meaningful and worthy cause. On May 5th I ride not for myself but for Team 26, and to honor the 26 Angels in heaven that had their path and freedom taken away from them. This ride is for them and all victims of gun violence, and to ensure the safety and security of our children and our community.
Thank you for your support.

Sandy Hook Ride on Washington
For the 6th time, 26 cyclists will ride to honor the 26 killed at the Sandy Hook School and all victims of gun violence, to raise awareness of the public health crisis of gun violence, and to support common sense measures to reduce it. We will ride Newtown, Connecticut to Washington, D.C. from May 5 to May 8, 2018 Our ride will take us towards and through states that are working to reduce gun violence. Until members of the Congress do their jobs and pass laws to make Americans safer instead of offering thoughts and prayers for victims, we will continue to ride.
