Hi All.
As many of you know every year along with 25 amazing individuals and the awesome SHROW support staff I ride to Washington DC as part of The Sandy Hook Ride On Washington. These are long days in the saddle battling the weather, terrain and traffic. We do this in remembrance of the wonderful individuals who were lost that day, and the impact these losses had and continue to have on their families and the Newtown community. We pedal our bikes in solidarity with those who are affected every day by the on-going and growing epidemic that is gun violence in this country. It is not always enough to just share opinions on social media and ask for change we can all do so much more. We cyclists use our legs to make a difference because that is a tool we have. Not just for all who have seen gun violence first hand but also for everyone who could be affected in the future. This trip does have a financial component and this is where we can use your help. For the 6th time, 26 cyclists will ride to honor the 26 killed at the Sandy Hook School and all victims of gun violence, to raise awareness of the public health crisis of gun violence, and to support common sense measures to reduce it. We will ride Newtown, Connecticut to Washington, D.C. from May 5 to May 8, 2018 Our ride will take us towards and through states that are working to reduce gun violence. Until members of the Congress do their jobs and pass laws to make Americans safer instead of offering thoughts and prayers for victims, we will continue to ride.
