Join me in my fundraising efforts for The Dylan Konakowitz Memorial Foundation (DKMF). With your donation, you are providing the opportunity for DKMF to provide scholarships to New London County high school seniors interested in furthering their education, as well as helping raise awareness for Type 1 Diabetes (T1D).
The 1st Annual Event will be held on Sunday, May 13, 2018. The event is a local family 5k walk/run that will start and end at Ocean Beach Park in New London, CT.
Please support me in helping Dylan's legacy live on.
1st Annual Dylan Konakowitz Memorial Foundation 5k Walk/Run
The 1st Annual Dylan Konakowitz Memorial Foundation 5k is a road walk/run through the ocean front district of New London.
Founded in 2017, the Dylan Konakowitz Memorial Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization established to preserve the memory of Dylan Konakowitz by helping others. Our goal is not only to offer scholarships to the New London County community that knew and loved Dylan, but also to educate the public and raise awareness of the seriousness of type 1 diabetes (T1D).
Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is an autoimmune disease that occurs when a person’s pancreas stops producing insulin, the hormone that controls blood-sugar levels. T1D develops when the insulin-producing pancreatic beta cells are mistakenly destroyed by the body’s immune system. The cause of this attack is still being researched, however scientists believe the cause may have genetic and environmental components.
