Welcome to my LifeCyle Fundraising page! I am excited to raise money for a cause I believe in, and can see the heartfelt and diligent investment that a group of core people and revolving groups of caring volunteers make to contribute to a LASTING, POSITIVE IMPACT on the lives of young women in the care and association of Heart of Hope.
I ask you to help me support Heart Of Hope and make a contribution to this organization- and therefore multiply the synergystic effects of all our efforts. My goal is $150.00. I'd love to reach that attainable goal and hopefully surpass it.
I believe that living is more than merely enduring the daily grind, schedule or list of responsibilities. I believe it is definitely more than just existing and waiting. I believe we all have gifts, abilities, thought processes, potential (whether active or dormant), and levels of willingness (some of have some wacky ones-LOL), that are meant to and should be tapped into- not only to better ourselves but to proactively seek to bless others. I want to LIVE and participate, not just exist and watch. The LIFECYCLE ride is one way I (WITH YOUR HELP) can do that and use my willingness, wackyness, desire to help and ability to ride to make a difference.
My first ride for HOH was a 20+ mile ride with NO experience beyond ONE 11 or 12 mile ride, my old MOUNTAIN bike, and a friend (with a really nice road bike) saying "I'll do it with you...whatever pace you need. We'll just have fun". And that we DID (a long and funny story including rubbernecking to see horses and flowers in the middle of 22 miles on riding and conversation and giggling...and a finish time that just was not too shabby! (smile)
My second ride for HOH was the 40-something miles with a group of riders who had taught me more about riding, urged me into and celebrated my road bike purchase (that looks like a little girl bike because I'm so short), and challenged me ride with and chase them along those 40 miles and many training rides--- of pure challenge and joy! (also known as LIVING).
I missed last year and havent even ridden. I'm a runner but this year cancelled a marathon and over three months of running (big frown here) due to a stinky injury. I feel like I'm starting over running and biking (clocked running 7 miles so far in 4 runs and eager to do more) and will hop on my bike for the first time this week. I hate to feel the loss of endurance and strength...and the "edge" that, although I am in NO way elite, some have said I had (for a short girl LOL).
I have been educated on the story, validity, love, dedication, and true impact of Heart of Hope and I'm grateful this organization and the people involved exist and for the ladies who are blessed by it.
So I will gladly and eagerly take this 44 mile ride challenge with a sincere heart and mischievous grin. I have a great goal, a challenge, and I have a really cool and special partner in crime to ride with me. It's a win-win: I get to help by pulling others in to ride or make a contribution to meet a giant and Godly goal with a giant God-driven impact AND I get to further my return to running and biking progress, spend time with a friend, have mischief, exercise, and have a meaningful day June 2. I'm also looking forward to the MANY VOLUNTEERS on the route who greet the riders along the way with FRIENDLINESS, ENTHUSIASM, FOOD, DRINKS AND HIGH FIVES--its always a fun time and a blessing! They are a huge part of the synergy and success of this ride.
Thank you all in advance!
Kathy :)
PS...just thinking on paper here..if only 30 people gave $5.00..this goal would be a done deal. If some could and wanted to donate more..well that would get the job done even faster. If you give less, that's still progress, worthwhile, and appreciated greatly. If you have questions about donating or want to give it to me directly to turn in, please text or message me.
