Hello friends and family!
I'm so excited to be tackling the VT100 again this summer on foot.....there's no where I'd rather be the third weekend in July, than Silver Hill with the other crazy runners, riders, crews and volunteers!! This event is pure MAGIC for me and my family. We started coming to the VT100 in 2000. I've been so blessed to have ridden and completed the VT100 eight times on horseback and have finished twice with my own two feet....remembering two of my favorite VT100 memories.. first in 2004, when I was four months pregnant with my youngest son, Jase...while riding my most favorite horse ever, Song. And second, finishing 2018 on foot with Guy, we ran the entire 100 miles together.... Running has empowered me tremedously after my horse accident, giving me strength and courage to reinvent myself. Running soothes my soul and I am forever grateful for what my body can do.....so knowing this is Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sport's biggest fundraising weekend, I'm excited to be raising money for them while fullfilling my running goals and dreams.........EVERYBODY deserves to enjoy the sports they love....
Beyond thrilled to be part of the Team Run to Empower as a charity runner for Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports this year. Our goal is to raise collectively 175k for Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sport. Competing in the VT 100 is a challenge that I look forward to meeting this summer. While I have spent hours, days, months and even years training for this event, it is something that I have been passionate about. There are people out there for whom just getting out to walk can be a challenge. People who need a little extra assistance to meet the challenge that brings health, fun and passion to their lives. Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports provides sports and recreational programs as well as wellness and environmental retreats to people with disabilities. They’re programs are offered to people of all ages, with a variety of disabilities. Programs include skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing and Nordic in the winter; and sailing, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, cycling, rock climbing, horseback riding, and more in the warmer months.
