Hi. My name is Erik, and I am riding this year to honor my son Logan. Logan is seven years old, struggling with depression and anxiety, hospitalizing him for quite some time this year. Logan is an amazing boy. He is caring, smart and fun to be with. With Logan’s mental health problems, he has been unable to go to school, participate in team sports, and focus on being a kid. Because of the lack of understanding of parents and other children, Logan feels isolated and can’t understand why he is like this. He wishes he could just be a “normal” little boy.
Prior to having Logan, I was not aware of the severity or enormity of the mental health problems people face in our country, especially our children. I am riding this year to help raise money so that more may be done to help those suffering from mental illness. I want to see Logan and others suffering, be productive, happy, and accepted. I want Logan to focus on being a kid and not his illness.
Through this process with Logan, I have learned that just about every single person on this planet, whether directly or indirectly, is affected by mental illness. Please support Logan and I, not only to help those struggling to get the support they need, but to also educate others, so that we can end the stigma associated with mental illness.

The Ride for Mental Health 2019
The Ride for Mental Health is one of the first rides in the country to benefit mental health. The proceeds raised will be donated to McLean Hospital, a Harvard Medical School affiliate, for the education, research, and treatment of mental illness including anxiety, borderline personality disorder, depression, eating disorders and substance abuse. Our mission is to raise funds for McLean so that we can help accelerate the progress being made to help others who suffer from mental illness.
We also hope to end the stigma surrounding mental illness through education and awareness. The promotion of this ride is a start. Many if not most of us are touched by close friends and relatives who have suffered from one type or another of mental illness.
Eric's Ride Inc. is a New York not for profit corporation with 501(c)(3) status. 100% of rider pledges will be donated to McLean Hospital, a Harvard Medical School affiliate.
