Like most people, my life has been affected by cancer. I have lost far too many loved ones to it and have been fortunate enough to see others reach remission. This year I am camping out and fundraising for Cancer Connection in memory of my dear friend, John Schmitt, who passed away in July of 2018 from acute myeloid leukemia. John cared for so many people in our community, including the people that some turn away due to various stigmas. I would love to surpass my $1,000 campout goal in memory of John and could use your help in doing so.
Please help me support the hundreds of people in Western Massachusetts and beyond who are living with cancer, along with their loved ones, who benefit from Cancer Connection's one-to-one guidance, support, and programs.
Cancer Connection offers a haven where people with cancer, their loved ones, and caregivers can learn to cope with the physical and emotional turmoil that is part of a cancer diagnosis and to explore ways to enhance their strength, their hope, and their care through support groups, integrative therapies, creative activities, and education. All services are offered free of charge.

Cancer Connection Campout
Due to the overwhelming amount of love towards our favorite local cancer organization, Cancer Connection, and due to the overwhelming feedback from previous campers, we are camping out again. And we are camping out again...in the cold. And this time, for more dramatic effect, we are camping out in even more coldness.
Starting 6AM Wednesday February 27th (Yes. FEBRUARY!) until at least 10AM the following morning, we will be back out on the old courthouse lawn in Northampton.

Monte started the event 13 years ago as a publicity stunt and raised $5,000 camping out by himself. Over the years, together with the fundraising our amazing campers have done, he has helped Cancer Connection raise $523,000 and a priceless amount of awareness.
