Once again I'm helping Monte raise funds for Cancer Connection by camping out in the cold in downtown Northampton! As a nurse, daughter, niece, and friend cancer has touched the life of someone I know over and over. Each year I camp I choose to honor someone I care for who has cancer. This year I camp in honor of a woman whose dignity, positivity, and courage I admire more than I can express. Her name is Ginette and she continues her fight as we camp. She has stared down her fear, her pain, and the bad news that has come far too often. She is a bad ass survivor and my hero. I am honored to know her.
Please help me support the hundreds of people in Western Massachusetts and beyond who are living with cancer, along with their loved ones, who benefit from Cancer Connection's one-to-one guidance, support and programs.
Cancer Connection offers a haven where people with cancer, their loved ones and caregivers can learn to cope with the physical and emotional turmoil that is part of a cancer diagnosis and to explore ways to enhance their strength, their hope and their care through support groups, integrative therapies, creative activities and education. I don't know of any other agency that offers free acupuncture, Reiki, yoga, and massage to their clients and the client's caregivers. In face all of Cancer Connection's services are offered free of charge.

Cancer Connection Campout
Due to the overwhelming amount of love towards our favorite local cancer organization, Cancer Connection, and due to the overwhelming feedback from previous campers, we are camping out again. And we are camping out again...in the cold. And this time, for more dramatic effect, we are camping out in even more coldness.
Starting 6AM Wednesday February 27th (Yes. FEBRUARY!) until at least 10AM the following morning, we will be back out on the old courthouse lawn in Northampton.

Monte started the event 13 years ago as a publicity stunt and raised $5,000 camping out by himself. Over the years, together with the fundraising our amazing campers have done, he has helped Cancer Connection raise $523,000 and a priceless amount of awareness.
