On April 6, 2019, I’ll be running in the SEA 5K Road Race and Fitness Walk to support Operation Santa Claus. Due to ongoing injuries, I have not been able to train or race since the 2018 Boston Marathon, but have set a goal of running this 5K because it is such a fantastic benefit for children at the holidays. I have seen the case sheets for these kids and they ask for such basic things like socks, mittens, a winter coat, and of course toys, games, electronics. Even a minor contribution can make a huge difference at Christmas for these kids.
I figure I stand a better chance at fundraising as opposed to turning in a decent time and earning points for my state agency runnning team this year and hope you will join me on the mission! The race effort may be ugly out of me, but at least we can put some gifts under a few trees for kids at Christmas.
All proceeds of the race will benefit Operation Santa Claus, which provides holiday gifts for children in need around the state of New Hampshire.
Each year, thanks to the tireless efforts of member volunteers from SEA/SEIU Local 1984 and support from generous people like yourselves, Operation Santa Claus is able to provide gifts for 3,000 children.
I hope you can make a donation to help me reach my fundraising goal of $750.00. Ninety cents of every dollar you give will go directly to Operation Santa Claus for the purchase of gifts for children. All contributions are tax deductible.
