On June 14-15th 2019, I'm cycling 100 miles in Le Tour de Shore to Support Maywood Fine Arts. Check out this video, and you will understand why this place is so important to me!
Maywood Fine Arts has transformed the lives of thousands of children, providing exciting arts opportunities many of them could never afford. MFA’s quality arts education -- including dance, tumbling, art, drama, karate and music -- expands kids’ horizons and helps them thrive. Your generous support helps us provide scholarships, unique programming, dedicated teachers, and a safe place for all.
Please Support Maywood Fine Arts with me!
Le Tour de Shore
Le Tour de Shore is 2-day 100 mile charity bike ride from Millennium Park, Chicago, IL to the Indiana Dunes, and then, on day 2, to City Beach, New Buffalo, MI. Our route features dedicated lakefront, duneland bike paths, and scenic Harbor Country secondary roads.
100% of the proceeds benefit Maywood Fine Arts

The mission of Maywood Fine Arts is to provide affordable, quality arts and fitness education that will enrich and transform the lives of children and their families in Maywood and surrounding communities. Maywood Fine Arts began in 1979 with one couple, Ernie & Lois Baumann, and their dream to open a vibrant center of arts activity in the underserved village Maywood.
In early 2004, after ten years of driving cars to family vacations in Union Pier, Michigan, goods friends and average cyclists, Lois and Ernie Baumann, and Kay and Steve Coughlin, challenged each other to ride their bicycles from Chicago to Michigan. So, in June 2004, with scant maps and no cue sheet, our baby boomer foursome discovered a 2-day scenic adventure. The thrill of this accomplishment (plus saddle sore amnesia) inspired the creation of Le Tour de Shore, a Charity Bike Ride from Chicago-to-Michigan.
