Dear Family, Friends and Outdoor Enthusiasts from all Walks, Runs, and Bikes of Life-
Whether you are fortunate enough to live in the quaint town of Mattapoisett or any of the neighboring towns or not, just know that there is a lovely path with lush forests and fields, beaches, and coastal farm land surrounding that path to be enjoyed by you, one and all, year round. For many, it's a source of relaxation, inspiration, and yes, perspiration. It's a safety zone away from the roads where children can ride their bikes, families walk dogs and I occasionally run a few laps up to the Shaw Farm to take in the beauty of the sunset over the salt marsh.
I am riding the 50 mile bike race, Tour De Creme on May 19, 2019 to raise $500 in an effort to help reconnect neighborhoods for car-free, outside activity and support the conservation and environmental progress that keeps our natural resources available for generations to enjoy.
Will you please join me in donating even a small amount to this cause? With many, we can do great things.
Effort is underway to expand the bike trail that begins in Fairhaven, MA, joins Mattapoisett, MA and will connect to Marion, MA, extending the path to over 10 miles in one direction by 2021. The funding over the years has been a combination of federal grants and community fundraising working with partners from the Friends Southcoast Bikeway, Friends of the Mattapoisett Bicycle Trail and Pathway, The Buzzards Bay Coalition and the Mattapoisett Land Trust....just to name a few. It's a lot of work for the right reasons, from many dedicated organizations and people like you.
Thank you for your generous donation and support. I hope to see you out on the trails soon!
