As many of you know, out there in the real world I'm a Psychologist, and I hold mental heal near my heart. As a provider I've been able to see first hand the effects of the mental disorders that more often than not go unnoticed or people/families are ashamed to accept.
This year, I'm excited to be joining the Ride for Mental Health where I will be riding along my friends of the Orange County Bicycle Club in memory of club member Glen Holt. We lost Glen just last month to a struggle with mental illness. I knew Glen as we both rode in the same group and he was one of the members that welcomed me to group rides and was always eager to show me the ins and outs of group riding, riding in our area and always helped me.
Also, I'm riding for everyone out there that is struggling with a mental disorder and to help them realize that they are not alone, that they can count on us for support.
Hope you join me on this cause
Thank you!!!
Adriana
The Ride for Mental Health 2019
The Ride for Mental Health is one of the first rides in the country to benefit mental health. The proceeds raised will be donated to McLean Hospital, a Harvard Medical School affiliate, for the education, research, and treatment of mental illness including anxiety, borderline personality disorder, depression, eating disorders and substance abuse. Our mission is to raise funds for McLean so that we can help accelerate the progress being made to help others who suffer from mental illness.
We also hope to end the stigma surrounding mental illness through education and awareness. The promotion of this ride is a start. Many if not most of us are touched by close friends and relatives who have suffered from one type or another of mental illness.
Eric's Ride Inc. is a New York not for profit corporation with 501(c)(3) status. 100% of rider pledges will be donated to McLean Hospital, a Harvard Medical School affiliate.
