Hey everyone!

I am super excited to be back in Harrisonburg this September for the 78 mile ride complete with some challenging climbs.

This event is really special to me because I get to honor one of my life's greatest role models: my Grandfather Donald Reid Tomlin, Sr. My granddaddy taught me how important it is to raise money to help causes you believe in and to give your all to honor those you love. I would not be where I am today (earning my Doctorate in Physical therapy) without him and I am so grateful for all the dedication he showed me throughout his years.

My grandfather had prostate cancer for 12 years. While he was able to live 6 years in remission after an initial surgery, he never fully recovered when it later spread to his bones and he passed away in May of 2016. This event is a tough one for me emotionally, but spending time with amazing people like Erin and Jeremiah Bishop and Robert Hess reminds me that we are making great progress in the fight against the terrible disease that is cancer.

Each year in the United States, approximately 240,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer - that's one man every 17 minutes. On average, 1 in 6 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer. The good news is that research shows prostate cancer is very treatable, but only if it is discovered early, before it has metastasized. According to the American Cancer Society, survival rates are nearly 100-percent for men with prostate cancer that is found while it is still within the prostate gland or nearby areas.

I am writing to ask for your support as I take on this challenge. The #1 way you can support my effort is by taking advantage of the Cancer Journeys Foundation's Prostate Cancer Awareness Project FREE ProstateTracker. Sign up for your free ProstateTracker account. (Women can share this invitation with men in your life.)

Thank you so much for your contribution; any donation is a generous one! All the proceeds will go directly to the Prostate Cancer Awareness Project: an amazing organization founded and run by Robert Hess with a focus on early detection to prevent prostate cancer deaths in the future: https://thepcap.org/

Thanks again for donating! Let's go ride!

Thanks for your support!
