47th Annual BikeHouston Moonlight Ramble
BikeHouston is celebrating Space City's 50th moon landing anniversary with our unique ride by adding a special space theme to this year's ride. Join us as we lift off to the night streets with over 1000 other costumed riders for this midnight adventure. Come dressed to impress in costume and in bike lights to win some great prizes.
In addition to our regular adult-focused fun ride, BikeHouston is adding a kids-party with a kidical mass, kids light contest, and kids costume contest. The fun starts at 9:00 p.m. and wraps ups at 10:00 p.m. Have your kids put on their best costume and deck out their bikes for some Space City fun ramble style. All kids 12 and under are welcomed to join in the kid's costume contest and kidical mass.. 12+ can join in with the adult costume and light contest. On-site bicycle valet parking is available.
Ramble riders show us your wildest bike decorations and costumes! The party starts at 10:30 pm with music, beer from Saint Arnold, snacks and prizes for the best-illuminated bike, best costume and more. Onsight packet pick-up and registration for those of you that like to wait.
Our Moonlight Ramble is BikeHouston's signature event and key fundraiser to support advocacy for safer streets and more bike lanes in Houston and the greater Harris County area.
Ride through historic Houston neighborhoods and see the city like never before! There will be a new 10-mile and new 20-mile option that will include a rest stop with music and snacks. Law enforcement officers and course marshals will be stationed at intersections for extra traffic control and safety. BikeHouston volunteers will be posted throughout the route to guide you along your way. We heard your suggestions form 2018 and have made the route easy to follow, safer, and better staffed. GPX and routes will be sent to confirmed riders once the route has been finalized.
The ride will leave at midnight and begin and end at the brewery. All riders must wear helmets and have front and rear lights on their bikes.
BikeHouston is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization on a mission to transform our city by creating safe bikeways to improve the quality of life of all Houstonians. We do this through partnering with the City and other organizations to expand the mileage and access to high-quality bike lanes and trails, to educate all road users, and to enhance enforcement of the laws that save lives.
- Our advocacy work focuses on ensuring that bicyclists’ needs are included in government work from planning to construction to law enforcement. We use the power of our members to drive change.
- Our community education programs teach motorists about cyclists’ rights and cyclists about their rights and responsibilities. We also host events designed to empower everyone to start riding a bike.Who We Are
We are the only non-profit bicycle advocacy group in Houston. We started as an all-volunteer non-profit in 2004. In 2014 we transitioned to be professionally staffed and are positioned to continue growing in order to transform Houston into a bikeable city. Thanks to our members, donors, and sponsors, we now have high caliber staff and board that are progressing biking in Houston faster than ever before.
