Unfortunately ODRAM has been cancelled for this year, along with many of JDRF's other fundraising events. Like many people and businesses, the coronavirus pandemic is having a major financial impact on JDRF. In addition to all of thier main fundraising events being cancelled, many of the smaller events that donate to JDRF have also been cancelled. This year, it will be as important as ever to donate so that the forward momentum that has been made towards a cure for diabetes is not lost.
Type 1 Diabetes
- is an autoimmune disease where the body's immune system attacks and destroys the insulin-producing beta cells in the pancreas.
- has no cure and the only treatment requires expensive insulin injections everyday and careful monitoring of blood glucose levels.
- affects approximately 1.25 million USA citizens and the rate of incidence is increasing.
By donating to JDRF, you can help with research towards early detection/prevention and cures for Type 1 diabetes, as well as advocacy programs to improve the quality of life and health of diabetics worldwide.
