I am so excited to be participating in the 4th Annual Swim With A Mission.
What really brought these veteran issues to light for me, was a few years back my family and I attended a fair in NH. As we were walking around we came upon a man who had these little shelters set up. They looked neat and struck my curiosity, so I went over and I started talking to him and he told me he built these little shelters for homeless veterans. Although it was very neat that he was building these, it made me extremely sad to think one of our veterans sleeping in this giant tube at night, this was their "home", their "safe"place. They have no house to live in, no family there for support, who knows what and even if they are eating a decent meal at night. It really struck a nerve with me to think that these men and women who go to war to keep us safe, come home to nothing. They struggle mentally and some physically. This to me was not right!! I wasn't sure what I could do to help and then I came across Swim with a Mission! Even if my contribution may be small it's a positive step in the right direction! We need to be more aware and caring for our own Veterans! They fight for us, we need to fight for them when they come home! Please help me reach my fundraising goal by contributing to support my swim on July 11th! Any amount will make a difference in the lives of Veterans and their families. Since 2017 Swim With AMission has raised over $2 million for Veterans through a variety of events including this swim event. Swim With A Mission is a day long festival for the whole family. Swim races are in the morning. Stay for the afternoon which will include the awards presentation, live military demonstrations by the Navy SEALs, K-9 Demonstrations, great food, and activities for the whole family. Swim With A Mission
The 4th Annual Swim With A Mission, an Open Water Swim Race and Festival was scheduled for Saturday, July 11th at Wellington State Park in Bristol NH. Unfortunately due to COVID-19 we have shifted our event to a Virtual Event. We would much rather have our live event and are disappointed about the change but we know that it is necessary at this point. Even in these tough times, we hope you will help us stay true to our mission to raise money to help Veterans and inspire others to help.
Virtual Events are open to everyone and will take place from July 1-31. Participants can choose to swim (1K, 5K or 10K), paddle (1K, 5K or 10K) or take on the SEAL Team NH Challenge. All participants are encouraged to raise funds that will go to our Veterans who need our help more than ever. Swimmers can also choose to swim more than once during the month of July and they will be able to record distances and times. Go to www.swimwithamission.org for more details.
Since our formation in 2017, we have donated over $8 million to honor and support local, regional and national veteran support organizations that provide critical services to our Veterans. These include supporting Veteran organizations that provide housing, take care of our homeless, support day to day services, provide service and support K-9’s, scholarships, jobs, create equine immersion programs and support art programs.
