Today, during these uncertain times, it is more important than ever for kids (and even adults) to access tools that teach them how to calm down, how to quiet your mind, and how to be present.
It is why I'm so excited to be biking the virtual Tour de Barnstable to support Calmer Choice. I rode the 38-mile ride last year with my daughter Mischa cheering me on, a reminder of why it is so important to support organizations like Calmer Choice which is a universal prevention program committed to teaching young people how to effectively and safely manage stress and resolve conflict so that they live happy, healthy and successful lives. Calmer Choice's goal is to provide skills that will diminish the risk of violence, substance abuse, and other self-destructive behaviors.
This year, I have set a goal of raising $1,000 for Calmer Choice. As part of that goal, I am challenging myself to bike 500 miles in the next three weeks leading up to the Tour de Barnstable on June 7 . Tour de Barnstable is a fun benefit ride for all ages. On Sunday, June 7th 2020 we will enjoy 38 Miles of Cycling & Smiling though all 7 villages of Barnstable, Cape Cod.
