Team UVA
We are the care providers, such as doctors, nurses, and psychologists, as well as the friends, of the UVA Comprehensive Epilepsy Program. We ride fundamentally to support people with epilepsy, but also to promote a healthy lifestyle for everyone and also to enjoy the camaraderie of biking. We suffer together to help relieve the suffering of others. Please help us raise money for the Epilepsy Foundation of Virginia (EFVA) to provide support, education, medication, and encouragement to people with epilepsy.
Seizures are an electrical storm of the brain. "Epilepsy" is any condition that causes an enduring tendency to spontaneous seizures. People are not allowed to drive for 6 months after a seizure. Approximately 26,000 Virginias have had a seizure in the past 6 months! A bicycle can provide independence to these people. EFVA can provide bicycles to people in this position! Let’s raise enough funds so EFVA can buy bicycles for everyone with epilepsy who needs it!!
