The Heart of Hope Life Cycle Tour supports a facility near to our heart, the Heart Of Hope Women's Sanctuary.
This year I plan to ride 50 miles in this virtual fundraiser to honor of my dad, Clyde A.Tew, Sr. He was an avid cyclist and began when he was 70. He challenged me and my siblings to ride also and we rode many times together fund raising. Unfortunately, he lost his battle to COVID-19 on April 11,2020.

LifeCycle Bike Benefit Tour 2020
Heart of Hope LifeCycle is a community friendly bike tour for cyclists of every skill level and age. We offer a challenging event for both the lycra loving, hard-core cyclists, but also a fun and non-intimidating event for leisure cyclists and families. Our goal is to encourage cycling and fitness in the region while educating our kids on cycling safety. Five routes are offered with beautiful country scenery including Caddo and Desoto Parish. Registration includes morning donuts/coffee, snacks, fully stocked rest stops, after-the-ride lunch, door prizes, Kids Fun Area, and sponsor expo.
Heart of Hope - A Sanctuary for Women is a faith-based maternity home. In a family setting staffed with house parents, young pregnant women ages 11-23 are provided a safe refuge to focus on their emotional, physical, educational, and spiritual well-being. Through on-site professional counseling, life skill training and continued education in the computer classroom, young women are released into a purpose driven life. Opportunities are created for spiritual renewal in family devotions, personal Bible study, and corporate worship. Intentional living brings emotional healing and empowerment to make better choices resulting in a confident parenting decision; single-parenthood, marriage, or the gift of adoption.
The benefit of living in a maternity home manifests in several ways: Helps remove the shame associated with a crisis pregnancy that is a powerful influence and major factor when women choose abortion. In the maternity home, the birth mother can safely explore all her options in a n understanding and accepting environment. Supports the family structure and offers counseling that works toward reconciling relationships within the family. Family counseling can help each family member move towards healing and restoration and strengthen the overall family unit. Provides opportunity for teaching life skills programs. Seeing a young woman functioning in different areas of her day-to-day life helps you see patterns and provide programs that target her individual needs. An opportunity to provide a program with a Christian emphasis and structure. The young women are able to be with other birth mothers, like themselves who are experiencing many of the same decisions and emotions.
