I’ve decided to start a team for a “virtual 5k” that supports transplant awareness. It’s no shocker why I’ve chosen to raise money for this. October will be 1 year since I received my gift and it’s been 12 years for my nephew! Our family is beyond grateful for both our donors. To anyone that wants to join the dash we’d love it! If you’d rather not and you have a few bucks to donate, we’d appreciate that greatly as well! Our team name is “The Heart Beats” (I thought of it myself ??)
Dash for Donation - Virtual Edition
Be a hero and help us spread the word about the importance of registering as an organ, eye and tissue donor. This year because of COVID-19, we are holding our annual Dash for Donation virtually. Register individually or as a team, set a fundraising goal, and help us spread the word about the importance of registering as an organ, eye and tissue donor.
Our traditional event includes a 5K or 2K option. For our virtual event, you may select one of those options, or set your own distance and even your own sport. Join us on Facebook, www.facebook.com/yesutah or www.facebook.com/yesidaho for event updates, live broadcasts, and information about our memorial garden.
DonorConnect is the federally designated, nonprofit community service organization dedicated to the recovery and transplantation of organs and tissues for Utah, southeastern Idaho, western Wyoming, and Elko, Nevada. Our service area encompasses 3.7 million residents, 94 hospitals, and three transplant centers – Primary Children’s Hospital, Intermountain Medical Center, University of Utah Hospital (along with the George E. Wahlen Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center).
Organ and tissue donation saves and heal lives. It offers the hope for a productive, healthy life for those in need. Every day, transplant recipients return to their families, friends and communities – all through the generosity of individuals willing to give the gift of life through organ, eye, and tissue donation.
DonorConnect is the organization that connects donors with recipients. We facilitate, coordinate, educate, honor, and advocate for donors and donor families so that one day no one on a transplant waiting list dies or is limited from the lack of a life-saving organ or tissue.
