After successfully raising money and completing the race for the past Four years, I have decided to take it on again. Over the past years I was able to continue my journey at the Krempels center and was able to see how important these fundraisers are to keep this amazing community going.
A little about me:
on the night of June 22nd, 2012, my life completely changed forever. I had a traumatic brain injury due to a motorcycle accident, resulting in a right frontal lobectomy. Two years after my accident, I was still going to therapy at Northeast Rehab. that August, my speech therapist insisted that I try the Krempels center in Portsmouth N.H for a second time, because I was further along in my recovery then when i first visited. (When I first visited I was terrified because I did not want to accept my physical state.) I was nervous about going, but my head was in a better spot this time, and I was physically doing much better. As soon as I walked in the door, I could feel a sense of comfort, and shortly after, I realized that it was a community I wanted to be a part of. I was hooked. Each visit is five hours of a cognitive workout. The Krempels center has given me, and countless others, a feeling “normalcy” after a traumatic brain injury. It didn’t take long to realize I wasn’t alone, and that a lot more people live with TBIs than I could have ever thought possible. that’s why donations and volunteering can make such a difference for so many. every year they put on a bicycle ride called the “King of the road challenge.” This event raises a large portion of the funding the Krempels center needs to continue enhancing the lives of all theses amazing people. they have helped me and so many others to better ourselves, and I enjoy doing all that I can to help contribute to this amazing program. Your donations would be very much appreciated. If you cannot donate, it would mean a lot if you could share my page. I’d appreciate it greatly. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for your support.
