The Fauquier Free Clinic provides a vital service to the region I'm lucky enough to call home. Each year, the Rappahannock Rough Ride provides a large amount of fundraising dollars to help aid the Free Clinic's mission. Though of course this year is drastically different than the past two decades this event has taken place, take place it will yet again, just on an individual basis. I'll be riding 60+ beautiful, hilly miles in and around Rappahannock for this event. If you'd like to donate to help the Free Clinic out, I -- and they -- would be very grateful.
From the Rough Ride organizers: This event will be held over the week of September 14th - 19th, where riders can get their miles from wherever they are, including their local trails, backroads, cycling/spin classes or home gyms. Proceeds will benefit the Fauquier Free Clinic!
Virtual Rough Ride
The Rappahannock Rough Ride is our yearly one-day bike tour event. Year after year, this event is a chance for people to escape the crowds and explore the backroads of Rappahannock County. All of the proceeds from the ride benefit the Fauquier Free Clinic.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this year our Rough Ride event is going to look a little different. We will be hosting a virtual ride so that participants can support the free clinic from anywhere, while keeping our community safe.
Participants will register for the event and join the race virtually. The event will be held over the week of September 14th - 19th, where riders can get their miles from wherever they are, including their local trails, backroads, cycling/spin classes or home gyms.
The Fauquier Free Clinic's mission is to serve the Fauquier and Rappahannock communities by providing comprehensive medical, dental and mental health care to eligible residents. We are dedicated to our vision of creating a community where all individuals, regardless of income, have the resources they need to be healthy.
Every dollar donated to the Fauquier Free Clinic generates over $6.00 in health care services essential for our community. Without the Fauquier Free Clinic, many low-income residents would have no primary health care at all. The proceeds from our fundraising event, like our annual Rough Ride, raise critical funds for the Free Clinic and helps us provide thousands of clinician visits per year.
