On Saturday, August 18, 2012 I will race my bike up Mount Washington for the 15th time, a 7.6 mile all-uphill race with an average grade of 12%, to the summit of the highest peak in the northeastern United States. The Mt. Washington Auto Road Bicycle Hillclimb is the largest annual fundraiser for Tin Mountain Conservation Center.

This year, my daughter, Rachel, and I are entered in the family competition of which we have a good chance of winning if we train hard and mother nature is kind.  Wind gusts often exceed 50mph during the climb.

You can help me support a great environmental organization, Tin Mountain Conservation Center, which has provided environmental education to over 75,000 students, campers and individuals throughout schools and communities in Northern New Hampshire and western Maine for over 30 years.
