Twenty-six years ago this spring we lost my dad to pancreatic cancer. It’s so hard to believe it’s been that long, and so many things have happened in our lives since. I will again be running the Western Mass Mother’s Day Half Marathon and the new 5k this spring in his memory and fundraising to support Cancer Connection. When my dad was sick, we had the most amazing support crew between family, friends, and the community in Orange and at Mahar. Cancer Connection provides support for those battling cancer and their families, and I know how important that support is. If you can, please consider a donation in any amount. I would be honored to run in memory or honor of any of your loved ones who have fought cancer. Send their names, whether you can make a donation at this time or not, and I’ll carry them with me through the miles.
WMass Mother's Day Half Marathon
The WMass Mother's Day Half Marathon has been supporting Cancer Connection for 10 years! Now that 2020 has been brutal to charities, they need our help more than ever. This race is one of extremely FEW that operate on donation. Race expenses are kept to a minimum, yet we try to make the runners' experience top-notch. This race has a vibe of gratitude, appreciation and so much love. Not only are runners happy to run, volunteers are happy to help and cancer-warriors are happy to benefit from the free services provided by Cancer Connection.
It is truly The BEST half in Western Mass! This race makes an impact!
