Welcome to my fundraising page! I know many of you donated last year and I first want to say THANK YOU!
I am proud to run again this year and raise funds for this very important cause and 'pay it forward'. The best gift that I can give myself and my mom on Mother's Day is to support an organization that helps local people dealing with cancer.
My mom was always an advocate of healthy living and exercise. It was my mom who encouraged me to run my first 5k in 2013 and then a 10k in 2015. She told me that I could ABSOLUTLEY run a half marathon when I called her crying, worried that I had bitten off more than I could chew. She was not surprised when a few half marathons later I told her that I was going to run a full 26.2. Mom was always active and was even training for HER first half during her second year battling cancer. She was a powerhouse.
What a year this has been! I have not been able to run as much as I would have liked to in order to train for this half, but I will run! I will run because my mom would want me to be surrounded by my runner girls on Mother's day, raising money for Cancer Connection, and thinking about what an amazing gift it is to be alive and active.
All proceeds support Cancer Connection and they offer their services free of charge to make a difference in people's lives.
During these unprecedented times, please help me support this cause.
No donation is too small! Thank you for supporting me!
WMass Mother's Day Half Marathon
The WMass Mother's Day Half Marathon has been supporting Cancer Connection for 10 years! Now that 2020 has been brutal to charities, they need our help more than ever. This race is one of extremely FEW that operate on donation. Race expenses are kept to a minimum, yet we try to make the runners' experience top-notch. This race has a vibe of gratitude, appreciation and so much love. Not only are runners happy to run, volunteers are happy to help and cancer-warriors are happy to benefit from the free services provided by Cancer Connection.
It is truly The BEST half in Western Mass! This race makes an impact!
At our center on Locust Street in Northampton, people living with cancer, their families and caregivers can meet one-on-one in a comforting and welcoming environment with staff or volunteers.
