Dear friends and family,
When I turned 50 last year, I set a goal to train hard and to compete in some biking events that I had not entered in several years, including the ERRACE 100-mile road ride. ERRACE, a fundraiser for the Helen and Harry Gray Cancer Center, is organized by long-time friend Andy Caputo, whose two boys I taught at Avon Middle School several years ago. Andy founded this event with his late wife, Ally, who courageously fought cancer for many years. COVID delayed my return to this event for a year, but it is now just 6 weeks away.
Anything you can pledge in the fight against cancer is greatly appreciated, whether it be a nickel per mile ($5), a dime ($10), or more. This year, I am riding in honor of my cousin, Lisa Barrong, who has been bravely fighting cancer for the past decade.
Thank you so much for helping me ERRACE cancer!
John
