In 2001, a close friend, Joe Barrett of Portsmouth was involved in a devastating bicycling crash during which he sustained a traumatic brain injury. Joe got connected with the Krempels Foundation in Portsmouth. Krempels provided him a doorway back into active healthy society. Joe returned to UNH, earned a degree in Recreational Therapy and became the poster child for successfully adapting to traumatic brain injury....and today Joe has chosen to get off his total disability and is back working at a brian injury support group in North Carolina. So I hope to help pay it forward. Please help kick off my "active" retirement and supporting my efforts in this worthwhile cause.
