Milo (also known as "The Grinch") is a not so rare purebred Golden Retriever. Milo spends his days on the farm following our every move, mostly his mothers every move at least. He happily greets us after work with a high pitched "YIP YIP YIP!" while holding the first shoe ( or toy) that he could find in the house. During warmer weather, he loves to wallow like a pig in a small brook in the back yard, and is not context until his golden locks are covered in mud. Have you ever seen a dog make a beautiful snow angel? Milo has great form, and once content with his work tracks snowballs all over the house with his ice covered Grinch feet. Milo is one of many shelter animals in our family that is loved beyond words. Milo is one of many shelter success stories that received a second chance and found his forever home with us. There are so many special animals like Milo In shelters just waiting for their forever family to come along.
Milo's mom( my wife) is a not so rare Shelter Veterinarian. I say not to rare because she, like all of her colleagues and so many in the profession, are whole heartedly committed to the advancement of animal welfare. The devotion, compassion, and work ethic that shelter staff has is tangible and visible in all that they do.
In order to support animals like Milo, my hardworking wife, and the amazing organization that she works for in October, I'll be participating in the Howl-O-Ween 5k to benefit the Animal Rescue League of NH (ARLNH).
The ARLNH is a non-profit organization that helps more than 2,000 animals every year. Their mission is to improve animal welfare in the community by helping pets and the people who care for them. Aside from providing shelter for the animals, the ARLNH provides community outreach programs such as the food pantry program, pet medical assistance fund, low-cost spay/neuter clinics and more
Will you join me by donating to my fundraiser to help animals like Milo? Thank you in advance for your generosity!
