Never before have I ever been so keenly aware that humanity is in a constant state of healing. We have seen it in the wake of so many who have died or suffered during the COVID-19 pandemic, in the aftermath of a series of school shootings, following the tragic killing of George Floyd at the hands of a police officer, in violent international conflicts, and even at home where so many families are impacted by interpersonal violence. Grief is everywhere, and this grief has led to an increase in mental illness and substance abuse.
I find myself awestruck and inspired by Ginny and Mac, who have have turned their grief on its head to make a difference in the lives of people and families impacted by mental illness. And so can you and I! Please consider supporting my ride or riding along with me. 100% of proceeds raised will be donated to McLean Hospital, a Harvard Medical School affiliate, for the education, research and treatment of mental illness including anxiety, borderline personality disorder, depression, eating disorders and substance abuse.
The Ride for Mental Health 2022
The Ride for Mental Health is one of the first rides in the country to benefit mental health. The proceeds raised will be donated to McLean Hospital, a Harvard Medical School affiliate, for the education, research, and treatment of mental illness including anxiety, borderline personality disorder, depression, eating disorders and substance abuse. Our mission is to raise funds for McLean so that we can help accelerate the progress being made to help others who suffer from mental illness.
We also hope to end the stigma surrounding mental illness through education and awareness. The promotion of this ride is a start. Many if not most of us are touched by close friends and relatives who have suffered from one type or another of mental illness.
