Do you know someone who has Diabetes or maybe a blood cancer like Leukemia or Lymphoma or possibly breast cancer or MS? (I have family that have been affected by some of these diseases). Maybe you have a loved one or know someone who has served their country and was seriously injured, lost a limb or suffers from PTSD. What these causes have in common is a charitable organization that raises money to either find cures or help those who have given so much for our country. One of the ways that they raise money is by having cycling fundraising events.
One of the issues with a cycling event is that not everyone has a bicycle. This is where Uphill into the Wind comes in, because they loan road bikes to people who want to raise money and ride in one of these events. All at no charge for the participant. What an awesome cause!!!
Since 2009, Uphill into the Wind has loaned bicycles to nearly 400 riders and those riders have raised more than $500,000 for 29 different charities.
Please help me! raise money for Uphill, so that they can continue their cause of putting "Bodies On Bikes". So, more riders can raise thousands of dollars for charities that are finding cures to terrible diseases and charities that are helping our service men and women when they have been seriously injured.

Uphill Into The Wind
Uphill Into The Wind participates annually in El Tour de Tucson to help raise funds in support of its mission to put more Bodies On Bikes! Through FREE bicycle loans to charity fundraising cyclists, Uphill has created a commitment to helping other charities while promoting health and fitness through the great sport of cycling. Nearly 400 individuals have participated in the program since 2009, raising more than a half million dollars for 29 different charities! And many of those individuals have gone on to purchase their own bicycle and continue to ride in charity events, raising even more money for charity!
Recruiting cyclists to ride with the Uphill team in El Tour de Tucson allows them to raise much needed funds to purchase more bicycles and maintain the current fleet. Additionally, team members are treated to a complete training schedule, weekly group training rides, fun incentive prizes and event weekend parties!

Uphill Into The Wind is the charity that helps other charities. We do this by loaning bicycles to individuals who want to ride in, and fundraise for, a charity cycling event but do not have a bicycle of their own. Qualified applicants are eligible to borrow a bicycle for FREE for up to 14 weeks to train on and complete the event. They then return the bicycle to be readied for the next event and another participant.
Founded in 2009 in memory and honor of Bob Griffiths, Uphill Into The Wind has loaned bicycles to 397 participants who have raised nearly $550K for 29 different charities. Many of those individuals have gone on to purchase bicycles of their own and continue to ride in charity cycling events, raising even MORE funds for charities! And in the process, they are improving their overall health and fitness!
In 2019 Uphill partnered with the Rob Dollar Foundation to get legislation passed to have a Share the Road specialty license plate for the State of Arizona. Funds generated from the sale and renewal of the plate will help both organizations to promote safety and awareness for cyclists, runners and walkers.
