I am so excited to be participating in the 6th Annual Swim With A Mission. As part of this event I am raising money for Veterans and I will also be swimming in memory of U.S. Army Specialist Matthew E. Schneider. Matt was from Gorham, NH and was assigned to 141st Signal Battalion, 1st Armored Division Wiesbaden, Germany. He died of natural causes August 28, 2006 while deployed in Ramadi, Iraq. He was 23 years old. Matt loved computers. He attended NH Community Technical College In Nashua on a scholarship. In Iraq, Matt helped provide frontline soldiers with communication support. In his spare time, he set up a wireless network that linked 80 of his fellow soldiers with high-speed Internet access. He planned to re-enlist and become an information support specialist. Matt was a friend, a helping hand, an individual who you could count on for a smile, a laugh or a kind word. Please help me reach my fundraising goal. Any amount will make a difference in the lives of Veterans and their families. The money that is raised will go to worthy Veteran service organizations both locally and nationally. Go to www.swimwithamission.org to learn more about the organizations that Swim With A Mission supports. Since 2017 Swim With A Mission has donated over $7 million for Veterans through a variety of events including this swim event.
