Friends and Family,
It’s that time of year again! The time when Phoenix temps are hottest, and my hours on a bicycle are longest as I “cram” for this year’s Flag2GC ride.
When Janet Kirby and the Dirty Girls first organized this ride, they partnered with Marine League Charities (Toys for Tots for Northern AZ) and we brought unwrapped toys as our donation. In 2022, this amazing bike community could surpass $1M in total donations over the last 25 years. Doug and I have been participating since year 2 and we feel so lucky to still be part of it!
The ride this year is August 6th, and before then I’m hoping you can help me raise at least $2,500 for the Marine League Charities. Every $ goes straight to them, and every $20 allows Toys for Tots to provide for one additional child. You can give with any major credit card and it only takes 30 seconds.
Thank you for supporting us!
2022 Flagstaff to Grand Canyon Charity Ride
On Saturday, August 6th, 200+ brave souls will ride their mountain bikes 65 miles along the Moqui Stagecoach trail that used to connect Flagstaff to the Grand Canyon. Why? Well, the Flag2GC charity ride has been raising money for the Marine League Charities (MLC) since 1998. Since then, we've raised almost $1 million - enabling Toys for Tots (T4T) to provide toys, books, and stocking stuffers to more than 10,000 children in Northern Arizona each year. In addition to Toys for Tots, proceeds from this event allows MLC to fund the Flagstaff Youth Program, Wounded Marine Program, as well as a Scholarship Fund for Coconino Community College.
The Marine League Charities is an Arizona not-for-profit charitable corporation organized for the purpose of supporting charities including those organized to assist children of Northern Arizona and those charities benefiting members of the U.S. Armed Forces.
In accordance with our mission statement, Marine League Charities (MLC) supports and funds the following local charities:
· Flagstaff Community Toys for Tots
· Flagstaff Youth Program
· Wounded Marine Program
· Marine Relief
· Coconino Community College Scholarship Fund
