This will be my 6th year participating in this event. SWAM has grown from an unofficial group of 35 people swimming across Newfound Lake in Bristol NH just for fun; to a fundraising organization that has raised several million dollars to support veteran related charities. With very little overhead, this organization works tirelessly year-round raising and distributing funds to dozens of veteran support groups & charities. Volunteers and generous people are the backbone of this organization! Did you know that 11% of NH’s population has served in the military? Over the past 6 years I have learned quite a bit about some of the issues that veterans & their families face: PTS – Post Traumatic Stress, TBI – Traumatic Brain Injury, Devastating Injuries, Survivor Guilt, Suicide. At certain points I am overwhelmed, so I can only imagine how veterans & families that are trying to deal with this stuff must feel.

Swim With A Mission
On July 16th, Swim With A Misson is excited to hold it’s 6th Annual Event which consists of competitive swim races. Participants can choose to participate in a 1K, 5K, 10K or 10K Team Relay swim at Wellington State Park in Bristol, NH. All participants are encouraged to raise funds that will go to support Veterans who need our help more than ever. Go to swam.org for more details.
Since our formation in 2017, we have donated over $8 million to honor and support local, regional and national veteran support organizations that provide critical services to our Veterans. These include supporting Veteran organizations that provide housing, take care of our homeless, support day to day services, provide service and support K-9’s, scholarships, jobs, create equine immersion programs and support art programs.
