SEAL Support
Team SEAL Support is comprised of 3 Seal Supporters. Devon, married Ty Bathurst in 1998 who became a SEAL after they got married and has been traveling around the world with Ty the last 21 years. We have 3 children, and 2 of the 3 are on the Team this year. Ella is 16 and a lover of the water, she is an Olympic Trial Swimming qualifier. Dane is 13, and also loves to swim and thinks SEALs are the epitome of Hard work and Success. Team SEAL Support will be paired with Bridge House in Plymouth, NH. The Bridge House is a 20-plus bed homeless shelter serving the men, women and children of the Lakes Region, Grafton County and the North Country of New Hampshire as they work to transition from homelessness to permanent homes. The Bridge House has a unique commitment to homeless veterans, who are never turned away under any circumstances, and a strong commitment to the national mandate to help end veteran homelessness. TBH believes in the worth and dignity of all individuals and provides services to help men, women, families and veterans build the skills needed for healthy independence.
Although the word “homeless” conjures up images of an urban problem with people sleeping on park benches, keeping warm next to sidewalk grates and eating in soup kitchens, it is also a problem in rural communities across the country like Plymouth, New Hampshire. The goal and overall mission of The Bridge House is to; provide emergency shelter and support for individuals and families, Enhance participants’ ability to return to the community by providing the necessary support, services and skills training to enable them to achieve healthy independence and permanent housing, and to End veteran homelessness.
The Bridge House provides information and referral, emergency shelter, food, job training, transitional living support, and aftercare to over 175 individuals and families each year, representing between 5,000 and 7,000 bed nights plus countless support visits to the area communities. The 20+ bed facility is located on the Whole Village Family Resource Center campus in Plymouth, NH and serves both single adults (male and female) and families with one or two parents. Services are statewide and beyond with the strongest concentration in the North Country, Grafton County, and the Lakes Region. Due to the VA’s commitment to end veteran homelessness, Bridge House is able to offer specialized services for this population, and also provides financial assistance through the fund “NH Funds 4 Our Vets.” The Bridge House's goal is to end homelessness, one family at a time!
All money raised on this page for Team SEAL Support will go directly to Bridge House.
Swim With A Mission
The 4th Annual Swim With A Mission, an Open Water Swim Race and Festival was scheduled for Saturday, July 11th at Wellington State Park in Bristol NH. Unfortunately due to COVID-19 we have shifted our event to a Virtual Event. We would much rather have our live event and are disappointed about the change but we know that it is necessary at this point. Even in these tough times, we hope you will help us stay true to our mission to raise money to help Veterans and inspire others to help.
Virtual Events are open to everyone and will take place from July 1-31. Participants can choose to swim (1K, 5K or 10K), paddle (1K, 5K or 10K) or take on the SEAL Team NH Challenge. All participants are encouraged to raise funds that will go to our Veterans who need our help more than ever. Swimmers can also choose to swim more than once during the month of July and they will be able to record distances and times. Go to www.swimwithamission.org for more details.
