Team Four
Team four has been paired with Children of Fallen Patriots. The saying goes, it takes a village to raise a child. Nowhere could that be more true than at Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation. Scholarships and financial assistance, funded by loyal donors and corporate sponsors, have assisted over 1,550 bright and motivated students throughout their undergraduate studies. Their story, and how they came to work with the organization, may begin with tragedy, but each scholar is a shining example of how honoring a legacy results in inspiring success.
The mission of Children of the Fallen Patriots is to provide college scholarships and educational counseling to military children who have lost a parent in the line of duty. Children of the Fallen is dedicated to serving the families of service members from all branches of the armed forces who have died as a result of combat casualties, military training accidents, service-related illnesses, suicide, as well as other duty-related deaths as ruled by the Department of Veterans Affairs. The vision of Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation is to ensure that every child of a fallen patriot receives all necessary college funding. They strongly believe that; a college education is the single most important gift you can give these children, that these scholarships are an important investment in the future of America, and that this is one of the best ways to honor those who died defending our country.
Research conducted by The Lucas Group on behalf of Children of Fallen Patriots found that nearly 20,000 dependents have been left behind by troops who have fallen in the line of duty over the past 35 years. Many surviving families struggle to make ends meet with 63% of surviving spouses making less than $50,000 per year. With no central repository of information from which to find these children, the organization works to find each and every one of these children to assist them in their growing success.
Children of the Fallen Patriots celebrates every spring with the families as the next group of students graduate from colleges and universities across the country!
All money raised by this team will go to Children of Fallen Patriots.
Swim With A Mission
The 4th Annual Swim With A Mission, an Open Water Swim Race and Festival was scheduled for Saturday, July 11th at Wellington State Park in Bristol NH. Unfortunately due to COVID-19 we have shifted our event to a Virtual Event. We would much rather have our live event and are disappointed about the change but we know that it is necessary at this point. Even in these tough times, we hope you will help us stay true to our mission to raise money to help Veterans and inspire others to help.
Virtual Events are open to everyone and will take place from July 1-31. Participants can choose to swim (1K, 5K or 10K), paddle (1K, 5K or 10K) or take on the SEAL Team NH Challenge. All participants are encouraged to raise funds that will go to our Veterans who need our help more than ever. Swimmers can also choose to swim more than once during the month of July and they will be able to record distances and times. Go to www.swimwithamission.org for more details.
