To raise money for Beads of Courage, I will be riding in this year's 39th Banner-University Medicine 2022 El Tour de Tucson bicycling event on 11/19/2022 along with my wife Carol. The mission of Beads of Courage is to provide innovative arts-in-medicine programs that improve the quality of life of children and youth coping with cancer and other serious illnesses. I am very excited to raise money for an organization I believe in, and one that brought great joy to Grace during her stays in the hospital and clinics. Beads of Courage, Inc. is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to improving the quality of life for children and teens coping with serious illness, their families, and the clinicians who care for them through our Arts-in-Medicine Programs. We believe in creating a context for caring transactions to transpire through our community and encouragement programs.
Since 2005, Beads of Courage, Inc. has established collaborative partnerships in caring with hundreds of hospitals nationally and internationally and worked with several community organizations to make healing happen through the use of beads as a historical art form.
Through our programs, we provide the opportunity for COURAGE to be honored, HOPE to be given, and JOY to be experienced.
Our Mission

Through our flagship Beads of Courage Program, children receive colorful beads that visually symbolize moments of courage along their treatment journey. Our organization improves the quality of life of more than 60,000 children receiving treatment for serious illness in 400 children's hospitals worldwide.
