Southern Arizona Adaptive Sports, is driven by a single goal; to create opportunities for individuals with disabilities to engage in recreational and competitive sports. SAAS is a nonprofit 501c3 organization. Our mission is to support the community through promotion and provision of fitness, recreation, and competitive sports opportunities for people with disabilities.

This year, I am riding 32 miles in the El Tour de Tucson. Southern Arizona Adaptive Sports has introduced me to wonderful people of all ages and capabilities. Since last year I've been learning wheelchair tennis and basketball. SAAS is a non-profit that distributes durable medical equipment to the underserved and uninsured in the area and in other countries. I participate in peer mentoring for newly injured patients. SAAS teaches others (occupational therapists, physical therapists, students and teachers) about adaptive sports. There are community teams in Tucson that do tennis, basketball, volunteering, handcycling, pickle ball, and golf. Last year, the Acsension Cycling Team did the 28 mile ride in the El Tour de Tucson. Ascension makes wheelchair lifts here in Tucson.

Personally, Southern Artizona Adaptive Sports has improved my health physically and emotionally. The group of people in SAAS are positve and friendly, encouraging and accepting and they make me happy. It's great being a part of something so uplifting and fun.

Please consider contributing to this organization that is growing and changing lives REALLY worldwide!!
