Each year, as the holiday season approaches, I like to find a way to give back, in some small way, to an organization or group I feel embodies the true spirit of the season.
This year, I've chosen to run in the Hot Chocolate Run. This great event raises funds for Safe Passage, an organization addressing domestic violence in Hampshire County in western Massachusetts.
Safe Passage relies on the support of others to fund their programming--including an emergency shelter program, individual counseling and support groups, legal services, a 24-hour hotline and more.
I would like to raise $200 to support their work, and to honor the many amazing women in my life. If you can help with a monetary donation, great. If not, then good wishes are equally wonderful.
(And how could I pass up a chance to run in an event called The Hot Chocolate Run?? Those of you who know me best know I adore a mug of hot cocoa - with whipped cream, of course!- on a cold winter's day. Especially in the company of a good friend.)

Financial contributions directly support the comprehensive, FREE services that Safe Passage provides to women and children who have experienced domestic violence.

Safe Passage is the organization in Hampshire County building safety, hope and justice for families who have lived with domestic violence. Adults and kids come to Safe Passage for a variety of programs: an emergency shelter, counseling and support groups, legal advocacy, and so much more.
