Hey everyone,
I'm still new at this whole mountain biking thing, but the Salida Mountain Trail system has been a wonderful place to learn the ropes. The access is great, the community is wonderful and it is one of the best parts of the Arkansas River Valley. Any donation you make will help improve the trails and get more people on bikes.
Thanks,
Charlie
Banana Belt Mountain Bike Race 2022
The Banana Belt mountain bike race is held annualy on trails around Salida, Colorado. The City of Salida is organizing it this year in conjunction with Salida Mountain Trails and Team Evergreen. All registration proceeds benefit SMT's work to build, maintain and steward trails around Salida.
Founded in 2004, Salida Mountain Trails (SMT) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that builds, maintains and stewards nonmotorized trails on public lands near the City of Salida. SMT believes trails improve quality of life for residents while boosting the bottom line of local businesses. And we are committed to ensuring responsible recreation that mitigates impacts on public lands and wildlife. We work with other stakeholders—including federal land managers, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, City of Salida, Chaffee County, and other recreation groups—to develop new trails. SMT also devotes a significant portion of our effort toward refining and improving the 55 miles of trails we manage.
