Dear Friends and Family,
I hope you're doing well and wanted to send my best wishes your way. As you may or may not already know, I am participating in the annual Ride for Mental Health in June.
The Ride for Mental Health is a weekend of cycling and camaraderie in New York's picturesque Hudson Valley. Few rides offer participants the opportunity to work hard for a worthwhile cause while in such picturesque surroundings. Showcasing the natural beauty of the Hudson Valley, the Ride is one of the first charity bike rides in the country where the proceeds will go to fund education, research, and treatment of mental illness, including anxiety, borderline personality disorder, depression, eating disorders, and substance abuse. In addition to raising funds for McLean Hospital, the largest psychiatric affiliate of Harvard Medical School, the Ride provides an outlet for healing and connection for others who have experienced tragic personal loss due to mental illness.
The Ride for Mental Health 2023
The Ride for Mental Health is one of the first rides in the country to benefit mental health. The proceeds raised will be donated to McLean Hospital, a Harvard Medical School affiliate, for the education, research, and treatment of mental illness including anxiety, borderline personality disorder, depression, eating disorders and substance abuse. Our mission is to raise funds for McLean so that we can help accelerate the progress being made to help others who suffer from mental illness.
We also hope to end the stigma surrounding mental illness through education and awareness. The promotion of this ride is a start. Many if not most of us are touched by close friends and relatives who have suffered from one type or another of mental illness.
